Cafe Renovation

We have finished the bulk of our cafe renovation and could not be more excited with the outcome.  I want to recognize the design/architect team of Katie Cox and Jen McDonald, great customers and friends that provided an incredible vision for our project.  We had a rough idea of what we wanted, and they tied it all together.

Our overall theme is 'Urban Rustic' which is in keeping with the historic Granary warehouse location and many of the elements that were already here, i.e. corrugated metal. Our space has evolved from the initial Roastery 5 years ago. We took our storage closet with the huge barn doors and made it into an Espresso Bar, opening to the outdoor patio. For a couple years we shared what is now the Cafe with photographer Woods Wheatcroft, going through several phases as partial retail store, art gallery, etc.  We took over the entire Cafe space, and have just recently completed these renovations.

We've now tied everything together into a more intentional and cohesive design, that still honors the warehouse vibe with barnwood walls, corrugated steel, a beautiful merchandise display, community table, and other furniture hand crafted locally by Misty Mountain Furniture.  A big thanks also to carpenter Iah Phalen who did most of the intricate design work! We are fortunate to have such talented craftsmen and designers in Sandpoint that are also great customers and friends!

We still have some additions planned over the next year, including a kids chalkboard and toy bin, a laptop table built around the center pole, a gas fireplace, and outdoor improvements.  We hope you like the improvements!
