This summer we participated for the third time in the Sandpoint on the Salmon river rafting trip, organized by K-Bear Adventures.  Owner's Mason and Heather approached us three years ago with this concept of 'bringing the best of Sandpoint to the Salmon River', and it was not hard to convince us to join in.

Each year has featured meals by Trinity at City Beach, wine from Pend Oreille Winery, beer from Laughing Dog Brewing, and Evans Brothers provides the coffee.  It has been such a privilege to take part in this amazing time for five nights and 80 miles on the Main Fork of the Salmon River.  From a business standpoint, its been an honor to partner with our peers who lead such successful businesses locally.  We try to create a first class coffee experience, getting up early to start the french presses, then offering handcrafted drinks dripped to order from our best coffees available.

From a personal standpoint, its been an opportunity to get away from cell phones for 5 days and to just embrace life, passion, family, and friends.  Both Randy and I, along with our Dad, went the first two years, along with some old and many new friends.  The bonding experience with us brothers and our dad was unforgettable.  This summer I had to carry the torch myself, but invited my girl friend and one of my best friends here from Maui.  Randy took another trip with K-Bear where he brought his wife, and 6 and 9 year old girls.

I look forward now each year to our river trip with K-Bear and friends.  Its a highlight of our summer!
