Evans Brothers Coffee, located in Sandpoint, Idaho, was started by two brothers, Rick and Randy Evans in the summer of 2009. We developed our vision over long rides on Chair 6, skiing at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. We wanted to bring a new experience around coffee to our region, to create deep connections throughout the supply chain, and to bring value to the communities where we work.


Our coffee selections rotate based on optimal harvest seasons. We focus on organic agriculture and socially responsible sourcing, going above and beyond in our efforts to celebrate the uniqueness of various origins, individual coffee farms, and the people who produce our coffee. We emphasize traveling directly to origin to connect with producers, selecting unique micro-lots that score the highest on the cupping table. Our roasting style compliments and highlights these distinctive qualities.

While Evans Brothers Coffee in Sandpoint continues to evolve since it’s humble beginnings, our focus remains simple: to provide the highest quality coffee, roast it to exacting standards, and provide it fresh every week to our customers and wholesale partners. Our dedication is unwavering in this regard, and we continue to grow ever more passionate about our craft.



RANDY EVANS  Roaster & Green Coffee Buyer. Caffeine has run in Randy’s blood since experiencing the Italian coffee culture while living in Naples, Italy in college. Since then he has worked and trained in all facets of the specialty coffee industry: From 2001 – 2004 as the manager for Honolulu Coffee on Maui; three more years as an apprentice roaster, and then Head Roaster for Storyville Coffee in Seattle; and also a Sales Representative for Diedrich Manufacturing coffee roasting equipment. Randy has been fortunate to train alongside several well respected industry leaders and roasters. Starting EBC with Rick was the culmination of all of this experience, allowing him to live his coffee passion to the fullest. When not involved in coffee, Randy loves ripping powder turns, mountain biking, and skiing with his girls (ages 8 and 11).

RICK EVANS  Wholesale Relations, Business Development, Sales & Marketing.  After a successful career in Sales & Marketing for Hyatt Hotels and Four Seasons Resorts, Rick brokered real estate for resort developments around the country. He and his young family moved to Sandpoint in 2008 for the small town community and outdoor lifestyle, where he soon recruited brother Randy and family to join them. Rick was the engine behind the start of Evans Brothers Coffee, and his passion continues to drive us forward. He has fallen in love with the coffee world, and loves the community aspects of our work. Rick is passionate about all his activities, most of all playing with his two young kids, and backcountry ski touring. 


DANIEL GUNTER  Bar Manager, Wholesale Trainer, Roaster. Daniel honed his craft as a Barista in two of Portland’s premier cafes, Coffee House Northwest and Barista, between 2005 and 2011. A true coffee nerd, Daniel has competed and won many Latte Art competitions and is well respected in the greater coffee community. He returned to his hometown of Sandpoint with his wife and toddler son in Spring 2011, when he joined EBC. Daniel loves otters, cooking, and heavy metal.





CARA JOHNSON Office and Production Manager – Cara is the glue that holds everything together and keeps us moving productively in the right direction. She is literally the cog in our wheel at Evans Brothers. Her positive and uplifting attitude is contagious and so welcome!


NICOLE BURRATO  Barista and Wholesale Trainer.  Nicole is an incredible barista, who works with everyone on our team and our wholesale partners to ensure a really high level of drink quality



MEGAN STAFFORD  Food Director and Café Operations. Megan does a bit of everything, from delivering to our wholesale customers, managing grocery accounts, tastings, and barista shifts. She has two kids keeping her busy, but mostly she plays A LOT of beach volleyball.
